From 29 September to 1 October 2015, Basilicata hosted the “LINC”, the annual event dedicated to “LEADER”, the community-led programme seeking to promote the integrated and sustainable development of rural areas. The programme gathered most of the European Local Action Groups (GALs), giving them the chance to get to know each other, exchange ideas and share new projects. The LINC- Leader Inspired Network Community , is a European conference, launched in 2009, with the aim of encouraging the exchange of ideas and development strategies, promoting start-ups and transnational cooperation projects. An important appointment for local development experts, it focuses on the importance of tourism and innovation in rural areas.
The 2015 edition, organised in Basilicata by the GAL “La cittadella del sapere”, featured 200 delegates and representatives from 65 GALs from 17 European countries. This edition is titled: “Knowlege is sharing – conoscenza è condivisione”. The programme included various workshops held in the villages of Lauria, Latronico, Rotonda and Senise. ArtePollino curated and carried out the workshop held in Rotonda and titled “Living the park: nature, wellness and art” and the visit to Latronico, including the Museum of Spa and Wellness, the Earth Cinema by Anish Kapoor and the caves of Calda.
