In order to emphasise the value of reading to personal and cultural growth, as well as the civil development of the entire community, the Department for cultural and tourist systems of Basilicata region organised an initiative named “The Power of books, the strength of literature”, held in the city of Potenza from 5 to 7 June 2017. Books exhibitions, writing workshops, readings, meetings with authors and art seminars were organised thanks to the contribution of many associations. ArtePollino became involved in the festival with an art workshop for children, named “The alphabet of stones”, inspired by the artists Giuseppe Penone and Bruno Munari. Starting from the observation of stones, alphabets and characters were created and then placed into an accordion book.
The association was created in February 2008 with the aim of promoting the cultural growth of the territory of the Pollino National Park.
