LATRONICO – Get the citizens involved but above all let them be the protagonists. This was the aim of ArtePollino Association, which continues its activity to make the people aware of the territory. In the small town at the foot of Mount Alpi, there was an informative stand with all the paper material and gadgets provided by Basilicata Region and freely distributed. This material was useful to promote and popularize the activities of the association itself and the knowledge about the Arte Pollino project. In addition to the popularization, the members of the Association organized “ArteInPiazza-Art in the Square”, an event with the aim to awaken the children, through the knowledge and the popularization of the project, and make them aware of the world of contemporary art expressions thanks to a simple creative action. In collaboration with “Ambrosia” Social Cooperative, the members of the Association got the children and their parents involved, who gave free play to their imagination, taking part into a collective action which utilizes the stencil technique to decorate the ArtePollino T-shirts. Hence, a creative action which was useful to highlight and promote a process as the one which is going to be experimented by the Park and its inhabitants. On the T-shirts, in addition to the logo of the project, there were also printed the names of the artists selected for the first edition of the ArtePollino event. The participation of parents and children was very active, and in the little square behind the Town Hall they gave free play to their imagination through artistic but simple techniques. The activity was useful to compare two realities: young and adults, called to work together in order to realize something new and original. The stencil technique is very ancient, but still contemporary and it was chosen because it is very practical and fast and it allows various decorations to be realized in a little time. On next days there will be further itinerant activities on the territory to carry on the awareness campaign.
