TEANA – A further meeting by the ArtePollino association was arranged in the council chamber in Teana. An appointment which was useful to explain the project from the beginning until now. After the participation to the “Festival della Taranta” through an informative stand, the association thought it was right to come back in the middle of Serrapotamo Valley, to illustrate the different stages of the project. The chairman of ArtePollino Gaetano Lofrano and the vice-chairman Enza De Stefano took the opportunity to make all the selected artists known and talk about their projects. And so they talked about the schools' involvement thanks to some educational activities for about five hundred students from the territory of Pollino. The didactic activities by "Il Castello di Rivoli" Association included a series of theme-based routes to make young people aware of the contemporary art world, through practical workshops. After, they talked about the artists involved in the project and their works. The “Vegetal Theatre” by Giuseppe Penone, in the Sarmento Valley, the Merry-go-round by Carsten Höller in San Severino Lucano and the Earth Cinema by Anish Kapoor in the thermal baths of Latronico. These artworks are already in progress. Instead, Nils-Udo, a German artist, chose a rocky hill with a grassy hilltop, located between Casa del Conte and Acquatremola, in the territory of Terranova del Pollino. On the plateau, he would like to arrange five gigantic and stone eggs in order to be seen from a distance. Under the eggs, he would like to put a layer made of gravel to highlight the contrast between the colour of the eggs and Pietra Capanna. Instead, Anni Rapinoja is a Finnish artist who will create an artwork that is inspired by an element of the arbëreshe culture, from which she was very enchanted by. The result is the planning of the “sky cleaner” (arbëreshe title to be defined), an installation made of gigantic brooms on a field exposed to the sky. Brooms will be slightly moved by the wind and they will “clean” the sky covered with grey clouds. Each brooms will symbolize each inhabitant that will be available for the project. Finally, during the debate they also talked about the involvement of Pro Loco from Teana and “I Taranteana” musical group in the ArtePollino project, interested in the performance, together with the help by Katharina Trabert, of a play about Marino di Teana's life, talking about his artistic life.
