SENISE – Arte Pollino, thanks to the opening of the last 5th September, shook up not only the artistic world, but also the media. In fact, the ambitious project attracted RAI Radio 3 attention, which dedicated great time to it during “Il Cartellone” programme, on the air on Wednesday 9th September at 23.00 pm, when Mario Cristiani, president of the Artistic-scientific Committee and chairman of Arte Continua, and Arte Pollino Association's chairman, Gaetano Lofrano, telephoned live. The latter Association was found in February 2008 in order to enhance the cultural growth of the Pollino National Park, one of the largest protected area of Europe, promoting every kind of artistic expression, above all the contemporary one. Both the participants to the broadcast explained to the listeners the three works of art made by the artists: Anish Kapoor, Carsten Höller and Giuseppe Penone, this latter work is still in progress. Commentating on their importance and above all their function to attract people in a territory, which is welcoming and should be visited for its enchanting beauty. ArtePollino is a project for the local development, and it is part of "Sensi contemporanei" programme, promoted by the Basilicata Region, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Cultural Activities and Heritage and the Venice Biennale Foundation. The Association promoted and promotes a series of initiatives which aim to involve local communities, schools, teachers, in order to popularize the project through the widest collective participation.
