|
LATRONICO – Arte Pollino project goes all around the towns of the Park, to make its inhabitants aware of it. It was the turn of Latronico to discuss and know the project, which is promoted by Basilicata Region, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Cultural Activities and Heritage and the Venice Biennale Foundation. Thanks to a video projector, the chairman of the ArtePollino association, Gaetano Lofrano, Katharina Trabert, consultant of the Ministry of Economic Development, Enza De Stefano vice-chairowman of the ArtePollino association and the member Stefania Arleo, explained to those attending inside of the high school's assembly hall, the different stages of the project, and they seized the opportunity to introduce all the selected artists and tell about their projects. To diffuse and popularize the ArtePollino project, in view of the official opening event coming on September, the ArtePollino association is promoting a series of activities for the information, involvement and awareness on the territory that not only consists of the simple meetings, but they also include informative stands during the different events in the territory. At the meeting there was also the Bavarian artist Nils Udo (in the photo), called to realize one of the works of art that will change the Pollino Park into a wonderful scenery in which art and nature dialogue. The artist, who is spending these days going around the Park, will try to find out important phases of the nature in order to then measure himself against a very significant artwork that integrates well with the sorrounding landscape. Aim of these meetings is to increasingly arouse the citizens' curiosity about this ambitious project, which has the opportunity of taking world-famous artists in our areas. The selected places are: Noepoli, the landmark municipality for the Vegetal Theatre by Giuseppe Penone; San Severino Lucano, for the Merry-Go-Round by Carsten Holler and Latronico, for the Earth Cinema by Anish Kapoor. article published on 14/08/2009 Il Quotidiano della Basilicata Claudio Sole |
