During this morning, on Thursday 18^th February at Milan Fair, the BIT started (International Tourism Exchange). Basilicata Region - Apt are in the pavillon 5, stand E 72 and G 77. In the exposition spaces there is also ArtePollino cultural Association, to promote its activities and the contemporary works of art of the Pollino National Park 's territory. The most important work of art is definitely the one made by the Anglo-Indian sculptor Anish Kapoor, inside the thermal baths of Latronico, who intended to tell his history through his “Earth Cinema”. Earth Cinema, is a “cut” that has been hollowed in the earth, about 45m of length and 7 meters of depth, where visitors, entering it, could be in contact with the bowels of the earth, all around the work there is a bay-planting. Anish Kapoor, one of the greatest contemporary art living artist, presented his work in September 2009. The work is in relation with the territory, and it is a sort of view about the inner of the earth. The “Vegetal Theatre”, the work by Giuseppe Penone, a place that is part of the sorrounding landscape, along the Sarmento torrent in the territory of Noepoli, is still in progress. In San Severino Lucano, over a thousand meters of height, on the Timpa della Guardia, where from a side you can admire the highest summits of Pollino and from the other side you can admire the Sinni Valley with the wonderful scenery of Monte Cotugno dam, it was located the astonishing “RB Ride” by Carsten Höller: a gigantic scenic merry-go-round, with 12 arms for 24 persons, which rotates slowly on the top of the mountain.
