The skin is for the artist the moment of the tension and the action of the work; it is the place where we notice the change. Works are the configuration of objects, they become gardens, or rather, places, they invade the space of the room and absorb it, including it as a part of the work. In the 1990 he takes part in the XLIV Venice Biennale, as a representative of Great Britain and the awarding of “Premio Duemila”. In the 1992 he wins the Turner Prize, the most sought-after British prize.
Earth Cinema - ArtePollino 2009

Cinema di Terra, or Earth Cinema, is a “cut” that has been hollowed in the earth (45m of length), where people can enter from both two sides. Inside, a long embrasure allows you to “see” the wonderful natural landscape, making you feel as a part of it. It is a narrow passage in the bottom for 7m of length, where Kapoor encourages you to hear a sound, an echo from Mother Earth, to find an image on the black screen, located in the central part on the embrasure' side where it doesn't appear any figures in motion, but reflections, shadows of the above vegetation. Once again, the work is characterized by new signs of plasticity and emotions caused by the discovering of the nature, that just seemingly can be considered as claustrophobia. The energy that spreads out all over the white cement and communicates with the sorrounding environment. The work opens a new artistic point of view on the territory, encouraging the spectator to obserbe it from “the inside”.
